Urethane Hardness / Durometer Range
Shore “A” 10 – 95 Ranging from gummy bear to skateboard wheels
Shore “D” 60 – 75 Ranging from skateboard wheels to a bowling ball
Additionally, the versatility of urethane allows for multiple processing and casting techniques. Hand mixing and automatic processing equipment are used to formulate urethane compounds to the desired properties.
- For tight part tolerances, compression molded urethane is typical and uses precision machined molds & tooling made from aluminum or steel.
- For loose tolerances, or oversized parts, opencast urethane is utilized with various types of tooling.
- Spincast urethane is an additional method of casting urethane to achieve tight tolerances and bubble-free parts.
